Academic Support & Tutoring

The Center for Student Success wants to help students succeed academically during their time at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ. Whether it’s struggling with a class, feeling overwhelmed in general, trying to figure out a schedule, needing help with organization, or learning better study habits, we’re here to help! 

Student Success Coaches

Our Student Success Coaches meet one on one with our students to help to create the right plan of action while providing support and accountability. Coaches help students stay on track and work through areas they may feel stuck in. This service is available to all Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ students at no added cost. Peer Mentors

Peer Mentors are upper level students who have exhibited integrity and academic excellence that have been trained to walk alongside students as they adjust to college life. Peer mentors are available to all students. This is an opportunity for students to connect with an upperclassman that will help support and share skills to encourage your growth and confidence. Mentor’s provide a range of services that can include:

• Academic support: Mentors may help students with study skills, time management, and understanding course material.
• Social support: Mentors may help students feel connected to their college community and provide advice on dealing with social situations and building relationships.
• Personal support: Mentors may offer guidance on personal issues, such as managing stress, dealing with family or relationship issues, and connecting students to resources for mental health support.

Tutoring

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ provides several subject specific labs.

• The Math Center offers math tutoring Monday through Thursday evenings for all math students in Mills Hall 381.
• The Writing Center offers tutors who can assist you in developing your writing skills and completing writing assignments.
• The Language Lab is available to students in French, German, and Spanish classes. Language tutors converse in the learned language, study vocabulary and conjugations with students, and provide general support.
